Dubai Issues New Tenancy Regulations for Registering Cohabitation

The DLD recently released an updated cohabitation tenancy guidelines for the whole emirate. Tenants had two weeks to register themselves after the notification was put out in the public on September 23.

A single rental home being occupied by many tenants is not a new concept. In order to lower their living expenses, a lot of people in Dubai share rental apartments with other renters. The majority of visitors to the emirate are foreign nationals looking for employment opportunities. However, the administration hopes to establish and maintain a thorough statistical database of individuals residing in Dubai by putting into effect these new tenancy regulations for cohabitators.

  • Click "Add More."
  • By doing this, you will be able to include cohabitants in the rental property.
  • Enter the cohabitants' birthdates as well as their Emirates ID or passport numbers.
  • Choose "Verify."
  • After that, include every member of the family who resides in the chosen rental home

Simply tap the "delete icon" and click the submit button to remove a member who has already been added.

Neither tenants nor landlords are required to revise the tenancy agreement throughout this procedure. The tenancy agreement will be immediately updated once you register the cohabitants.
